Isabel Andrews
Izzy is one of the most amazing people I know. She has been my best friend since the moment she sat next to me on the first day of sixth grade. Izzy is extremely athletic and fun. She doesn't care in the slightest what people think of her. She is so unstereotypical and full of energy that many people don’t know what to do with her. Because of her carefree nature, Izzy has become a perfect friend for me. She brings me out of my head and makes me goof off and be silly. Izzy means so much to me. Whenever I think of her, I instantly feel happier.
I took these portraits of these four girls in my friend’s back yard and in the park behind her house. These four girls are my closest friends and we had just awoken from a sleepover. We decided to go outside for a photoshoot. It was a beautiful warm sunny morning and instantly everyone was in a good mood. I arranged the pictures by having my friends sit or stand in places I thought had good lighting and a cool background.
I really focused on the angles. I learned that I liked the pictures taken either from slightly above or below. I also saw how the background can either complement the person or draw attention away from them. I found a bright blue bench that my friend with blue eyes could sit on and it really makes her eyes pop. I learned to pay more attention to framing in the camera and to get closer to the subject.
