Delhi Bridge
Winans Lake
Hendricks House
Delhi Bridge- This bridge is on the US National Historic Place list. The original bridge was built around 1890 as a one lane wooden bridge. The bridge stood for many years until it was closed and deemed "unsafe". The county was planning on tearing down the bridge and rebuilding a modern bridge. Many people were outraged due to its historic ranking. The county kept the bridge closed while supporters started raising money for it to finally be restored in 2009. I enjoyed taking pictures of the bridge because there were so many different angles you could capture.
Winans Lake- This is the lake where I have spent every summer since I was four years old. The first time I ever visited the lake I said, “I’m never leaving the lake!”. Over the years I have been able to leave the lake and even wanted to, but that’s not the point. The point is that this lake means so much to me. It is so beautiful all the time, rain or shine. It always puts your mind at ease. Taking pictures of water has a difficulty within itself. You must pay close attention to the way the light reflects off the water.
Hendricks House- This is a historic house in Hamburg Township which was originally a one room log cabin built in 1832. The house has been renovated throughout the years as the times and its owners have required. The house is known in the community as “The House with the Tree Through it”. Yes, the house really does have a tree growing through the living room. However, this is only one of the quirky, fun components of this historic residence. My grandmother is now the owner of the “Hendricks House” and is slowly returning this house to its full potential and historic character. Taking photos of components of a house is difficult. I had to pay close attention to the background and find and capture angles that complement the structure.
